Kennecott Copper Mine

A couple weeks ago we went to the Kennecott Copper Mine with the girls.  Jeff's sister, Julie, works security at the entry and got us in for free.  It was a quick little day trip with Jeff's other sister, Becky, and her four children. We had a good time and stayed a short while.  Mostly stopped by and then went on to Becky's house for some lunch/dinner before heading home again.

The copper mine itself...one huge big hole in the ground.  Kind of an eye sore on the landscape honestly.
Jeff and the girls next to a tire.  These are the tires that they use on the large trucks that do the hauling.
Michelle and the girls next to the massive tire.

Side story:  There were a number of Japanese tourists at the visitor center.  Apparently Japanese people must not see twins enough in their culture as we had many cute Japanese people smiling at them and commenting on them.  We even had one small group of tourists request to take a picture of them.  They took a picture of the girls and then even a couple with them in the picture...we laughed about it.  Good times.
