Viva Las Vegas

Jeff and I had a good time in Vegas for our 2nd Anniversary. We were planning to go to St. George on Saturday and visit with Wayne and Jackie and kids. But they called to tell us that they all had the swine flu. We decided to leave on Saturday morning anyway and we stayed in a ghetto hotel in Hurricane and spent time wandering around St. George without the Bowers. We headed into Vegas on Sunday morning and spent some time checking things out before we checked into the Rio. Very nice room and king size bed! We dressed up and went to Cheesecake Factory for our anniversary dinner. Then on Monday we went around town and saw the sights. We got free tickets to the top of the Eiffel tower and that was cool (although we wished later we would have gone up at night). We saw the fountains at the Bellagio (also cooler at night but at least we got to see them as we came back that night a little to late and missed the last show). We checked out Freemont St and saw some super cool street artists! One guy did awesome paintings with spray paint. We of course went to the Rio Carnival Buffet.....mmmmmm so tasty. A girl and her family sitting kitty corner to us was surprised at how much we could put away. When Jeff sat down and immediately got back up to get a spoon (I don't think she realized he wasn't going for more food) she said "holy cow" and then to me said "how do you guys do it? You're both pretty skinny and yet keep eating" We had a good laugh at that. Tuesday morning we got up early and went off to see the Hoover Dam and hoped to see the Grand Canyon too. Hoover Dam was awesome but we mis-navigated ourselves and didn't see the Grand Canyon :( This also put us home much later and we didn't get back til 12 midnight :P Oh well it was a really fun time and we enjoyed it.
